TORIDAL CORE TRANSFORMER

A power transformer with a donut-shaped (torus) core is called a toroidal transformer, also sometimes called a toroid transformer. High-grade magnetic materials, such ferrite or silicon steel, are usually used to create this core because they facilitate effective energy transfer. A very effective magnetic circuit is produced by the tightly wound main and secondary winding coils around the toroidal core.
